Scroll strips
Longitudinal scroll slitting is a patented technology by L.M. Laminati Metallici.
It allows the production of appropriately shaped strips to obtain discs and circular or elliptical sections, resulting in significant material savings (up to 15%) compared to the use of standard strips with parallel edges.
The longitudinal scroll slitting of coils is a patented system developed by L.M. Laminati Metallici.
Strips with a longitudinal scroll profile are ideal for applications requiring the formation of circular or elliptical shapes from the strips, for two main reasons:
- Minimal waste after stamping circular shapes from the strip;
- Maximum utilization of the coil width selected for strip production.
L.M. Laminati Metallici is equipped with various sets of blades, spacers, and special rubber components, designed as unique pieces, essential for shaping strips into discs of various diameters. On request, special cuts can be made to produce discs with diameters beyond those currently available.
Longitudinal scroll cutting can be performed on all types of low-carbon steel with a thickness ranging from 0.15 to 0.80 mm.
L.M. Laminati Metallici operates a one-of-a-kind facility and has developed unparalleled expertise and know-how over decades in the grinding of scroll blades, which cannot be processed with the traditional systems used for standard circular blades by other steel service centers.
