Scroll strips
Longitudinal scroll slitting is a patented technology by L.M. Laminati Metallici.
It enables the production of appropriately shaped strips to create discs and circular or elliptical sections, resulting in significant material savings (up to 15%) compared to using standard strips with parallel edges.
Longitudinal scroll slitting is a globally patented coil cutting system developed by L.M. Laminati Metallici.
The longitudinal scroll-profiled strip is ideal for all applications requiring a circular or elliptical shape to be cut from the strip, primarily for two reasons:
- Minimal waste after punching circular blanks from the strip itself.
- Maximum utilization of the coil's width selected for strip production.
L.M. Laminati Metallici has a variety of blades, spacers, and specially crafted rubber components, custom-built as unique pieces, necessary for producing scroll-shaped strips from which discs of different diameters can be obtained. Upon request, special cuts can be performed to produce discs of diameters other than those already in use.
Longitudinal scroll slitting can be performed on all types of low-carbon steel with thicknesses ranging from 0.15 to 0.80 mm.
L.M. Laminati Metallici boasts a unique facility, unmatched expertise, and decades of experience in grinding scroll blades, which cannot be processed with traditional systems used for standard circular blades employed by other steel service centers.
